27Feb How should i go about being a Corporate pilot?
genius asked:
Starting from flying school what is the procedure for doing so? Does it need a Commercial rating or would a Private Pilot License be enough? As compared to being a pilot in an airline does it cost more to be a corporate pilot? And how much do new pilots make?
Also, how do i have to apply for a pilot’s job in the corporate sector?
Thanks.
I would really appreciate it if some pilot could give me his email id. Thanks.

I just shadowed a private pilot for my career ed project. His name was Dan Rees, and he would love to answer any questions for you about his career path, and working for a Corporate company instead of commercial. His number is 402 540 3386. My name is Owen Williams. He can tell you everything you need to know about becoming a corporate pilot, because he has been one for over 35 years, and been through the whole process to getting there. I definitely suggest you call him with your questions, because he would love to answer them.

To get paid for your services as a pilot (with a very small few exceptions) you will need to have a commerical MEL/SEL rating with instrument. Most Corporate pilots that are captains also have their ATP, regardless if the operation is a Part 91 operation such as Ford Air Transport.
No corportion will hire a private pilot to fly their airplanes, due the range and locations that corportaons fly. they also fly all weather, day and night, they cant wait around for a nice sunny day.
Their are a few exceptions such as a lawyer flying his own airplane, where the aircraft is a buiness tool, but this not the same as a corporate flight department used as a transportaion tool for a large corporation.
