honestly, i don’t want to sound pompous, but this song can only truly be appreciated once you experience it live… its truly amazing, and its sad to know that andrew no longer plays it, but what can you do?

There’s no just kidding about cancer, and no “haha”’s either.
Do we really need to make a timeline to show what he wrote before he got sick and what came after? He was in the process of writing for *JM when he found out he had cancer.
And does it make sense to anyone that he would talk about cancer “look[ing] beautiful, standing in her underwear”?
It’s actually writtin about his now wife, the same girl he wrote “Punk Rock Princess” about. I heard him say it at a concert, so that’s a fact.

If it was any less than 9 minutes or any different, it just wouldn’t be the same. This song is perfect, any version of it. How can people who diss the length expect him to say sooo much using any less time? It wouldn’t be so impactful if it was just a regular 3 minute song.

Jack’s Mannequin. Not SoHo. SoCo, Something Corporate, yes. Something Corporate came first, this is a Something Corporate song, and then he started Jack’s Mannequin. *JM isn’t made up of all of Something Corporate, just a couple members missing.

legend037, sometimes the easiest songs to play, can come across as the most complex, diverse sounding sogns. Andrew puts an extreme ammount of emotion into his songs, he turns easy songs into masterpieces, his songs are not hard to play but yet they paint a picture worth more than a thousand words

This is the very first SoCo song i heard, that was in 2004 maybe. Now i absolutely love SoCo and Jack’s Mannequin. Andrew McMahon is my favorte artist.
