I have a few major questions:
How long would the process of getting a sponsor take?
Would a company be willing to give money to a school group, like the NHS, even if they are not directly connected to community service related business (like getting a sponsor from a medical company)?
How much money can you expect from one corporate sponsor?
We would be using this money for attending a conference in Florida, that might factor into these questions. We need about $3000 just in case this helps answer.

To get a company to sponsor you need to contact a company that has some related interest in the activity. To start with you have to talk with the Marketing department. Usually they are in charge of sponsorships and Advertising. Find the name of the person and write them a letter (preferably by a professional or a grant-writer). Companies sponsor activities for a lot of reasons but usually to get their name out. As far as how much you are going to get depends on the company and their interest in the cause. You may have to knock on several doors and always be prepared for disappointment. There may also be agencies that will help. Philanthropic foundations…you may want to check them out. It is always good to get a professional grant writer. You may have to pay something but in the long run it wil help.
